Among a hugely competitive field, your business shone through — how does that feel

It’s a great feeling. We work hard at what we do, so having that recognised by people outside the business and within the food industry is genuinely so rewarding. It’s given us a real sense of momentum and was a real honour to win.

What’s been the best reaction you’ve had since the win

Hearing from long‑standing customers & suppliers has been the standout. A lot of them have followed or been a part our journey from the early days, so their pride and excitement has meant a lot. It’s a reminder of why we do what we do.

Who inspires you in the food and drink world and why

I’m inspired by all the Welsh & local producers we work with in the industry who stay committed to quality and local sourcing while still pushing things forward. Anyone who manages to innovate & diversify without losing sight of their roots always catches our attention.

Got any words of wisdom for someone dreaming of launching a food or drink business

Every day is a school day.

What drives you to create change or set new standards in the Welsh food and drink industry

I want to see the industry continue to grow in Wales in a way that reflects the quality and potential we have here in Wales. There’s so much talent, produce, and creativity already in the sector, and if I can contribute to raising awareness of that and giving a platform for Wales to shine then that feels like time well spent. It’s about pushing things forward in a way that benefits everyone, not just our own business.

What’s next for you and the business, any exciting plans on the horizon

I’m sure the directors have got a few projects in the pipeline, they never rest here and in the last 5 years there’s always been a “January mission”

As for the farmshop the award has opened a few doors, and we’re enjoying exploring them.

Finally, what’s the best bit about being part of the Welsh food and drink scene

The community. People genuinely support each other, and there’s a shared pride in what Wales produces. It’s a great environment to grow a business in. “Welsh is best”
