Among a hugely competitive field, your business shone through, how does that feel?!
Honestly, it still feels surreal. There are so many incredible Start Up food and drink businesses in Wales, so to be recognised in this way is such a proud moment for us and means the world to our small team.
What’s been the best reaction you’ve had since the win?
The messages from our customers and supporters have been so special. Seeing people genuinely celebrate the win with us has reminded us how supportive the Welsh food and drink community really is.
Who inspires you in the food and drink world and why?
We’re constantly inspired by passionate independent producers and businesses who are doing things differently whilst staying true to quality and authenticity. Wales is full of incredibly creative food brands and it’s amazing to be surrounded by that energy.
Got any words of wisdom for someone dreaming of launching a food or drink business?
Start before you feel ready and don’t be afraid to back yourself – something I’m slowly getting better at doing! Building a food business takes resilience, patience and a lot of hard work, but if you truly believe in your product, keep going.
What drives you to create change or set new standards in the Welsh food and drink industry?
We’ve always wanted to create products that feel innovative whilst still bringing people together through food. For us, it’s about creating memorable moments and experiences and showing that small Welsh brands can have a big impact.
What’s next for you and the business, any exciting plans on the horizon that you can share?
Some I can share, some I can’t and you’ll just have to wait a little longer for those ones! We’ve got some really exciting things in the pipeline, including expanding further into food service, growing our retail presence and continuing to develop new flavour moments. This award has given us even more motivation for what’s next.
Finally, what’s the best bit about being part of the Welsh food and drink scene?
The sense of community. There’s such a genuine willingness to support one another, collaborate and celebrate each other’s successes — and that’s something really special to be part of.
