How does it feel a few months on from winning the award?
We’re still so ecstatic to have won the award and to have brought it home to Ceredigion! We’re very proud of our staff for everything they do for us, and so grateful to our lovely customers for helping us to rebuild and grow.
What is one piece of advice would you give to any aspiring business owner?
To work hard and never give up. He who stands still goes nowhere!
How do you strive to make a difference in the Wales Food and Drink market?
We want to support local producers as much as we can to support the Welsh economy, whilst showcasing the high quality of food and drink we have on offer here at the Moody Cow bistro and farm shop.
What do you see as the biggest challenge for the sector?
Cost increases – the rising cost of produce, especially high quality produce, of energy, rising staff costs and the on-going cost of living crisis. The importance of providing quality and value for money has never been more significant than it is now.
Who is your Food and Drink hero?
Brian Jones, the founder of Castell Howell and generally an all round brilliant human being. His dedication to the industry in Wales has been admirable, especially when it comes to supporting Welsh farmers which is so important in our current climate. And of course, the farmers themselves are heroes!
