How does it feel a month on from winning the award?
Winning the award has been an incredibly uplifting experience for our entire team. A month on, we still feel a tremendous sense of pride and accomplishment. It’s a validation of our hard work and dedication to quality, innovation, and supporting local Welsh suppliers. The recognition has energised us and reinforced our commitment to excellence in everything we do.
What is one piece of advice you would give to any aspiring business owner?
The one piece of advice we would give to any aspiring business owner is to stay true to your values and mission. Consistently delivering quality and fostering innovation are key, but equally important is building strong relationships within your community. For us, partnering with local Welsh suppliers has not only enhanced our offerings but also strengthened our ties with the community, creating a more sustainable and supportive business environment and we’ve stayed true to that core value since day one.
How do you strive to make a difference in the Wales Food and Drink market?
We strive to make a difference in the Wales Food and Drink market by championing local produce and suppliers. Our commitment to sourcing high-quality, local ingredients not only ensures fresher and more flavourful meals for our customers but also supports the local economy and reduces our environmental footprint. Innovation in our menus and services also sets us apart, providing unique and memorable food experiences that celebrate the rich heritage and flavours that Wales has to offer.
What do you see as the biggest challenge for the sector?
The biggest challenge for the sector is balancing sustainability with growth. As the demand for high-quality, locally sourced food continues to rise, we need to ensure that our practices are environmentally sustainable. This includes addressing issues such as food waste, energy consumption, and the carbon footprint of our supply chains. Adapting to these challenges requires continuous innovation and a commitment to sustainable practices, which is why JPC take those goals and translate them into tangible results wherever possible.
Who is your Food and Drink hero?
We couldn’t pinpoint one hero, because so many individuals do incredible things for our industry, and closer to home for our business and suppliers. We’d be more inclined to see anyone who is passionately dedicated to promoting sustainable and local food practices in Wales as Food and Drink heroes. Our team as a whole for example, and their commitment to excellence and sustainability in our industry is truly inspiring.
