Among a hugely competitive field, your business shone through—how does that feel?!
It’s an incredible feeling, especially knowing how much talent and passion there is across the Welsh food and drink industry. Being recognised in such a strong field is a real boost—not just for the team here, but for our farmer-owners too. It’s a reminder that our commitment to quality and provenance is being noticed.
What’s been the best reaction you’ve had since the win?
The support from our community has been great—our farmers, staff, and even customers sending messages of congratulations. Someone called it a “win for Welsh dairy” and that really stuck with us. It’s not just about the award—it’s about what it represents for homegrown, cooperative-led food.
Who inspires you in the food and drink world—and why?
We’re inspired by producers who stay true to their roots while pushing for innovation. Businesses that are unapologetically Welsh, focused on quality, and brave enough to stand out on shelves across the UK and beyond.
Got any words of wisdom for someone dreaming of launching a food or drink business?
Build your brand on something real—provenance, values, or a unique product story. And get to know your market. It’s not always easy, but the support network in Wales is brilliant if you ask for help and make connections early on.
What drives you to create change or set new standards in the Welsh food and drink industry?
As a farmer-owned co-operative, our motivation is to create a sustainable future for our members while showcasing the very best of Welsh dairy. That means investing in innovation, protecting traditional skills, and raising the bar in terms of quality and traceability.
What’s next for you and the business—any exciting plans on the horizon that you can share?
We’ve just undergone a major expansion to increase our cheese production capacity. There’s big ambition to grow both at home and internationally, so it’s an exciting time.
Finally, what’s the best bit about being part of the Welsh food and drink scene?
The sense of community. It’s competitive, yes—but it’s also incredibly collaborative. People genuinely want to see each other succeed. There’s a shared pride in what we produce here in Wales, and that’s something really special to be part of.
